HISTORY OF THE BREED
The Mangalica is one of the
original wild swine breeds of Europe.
Mangalica pigs are native to
Hungary and were hunted as
game animals on the Imperial
parks of the old Austro-Hungarian
Empire.
Recognized as a distinct breed since
1927, Mangalica pigs are a hardy breed.

Short 1 minute video showing our pastured raised Wooly or Mangalica pigs at Csarda Haz Farm grazing a cover crop of peas, oats, and vetch. Our pigs enjoy eating the greens like a salad. Our Mangalicas roam freely on the cover crop, obtaining minerals and protein as they consume these green cover crops.
HAPPY MANGALICA PIGS Brief set of three videos showing our pastured raised Wooly or Mangalica pigs at Csarda Haz Farm. Our pigs really enjoy foraging for walnuts. Lots of delicious protein in the walnuts. In the last video you can hear the pigs cracking the walnuts as they eat them.
Newborn Mangalicas Piglets
Mangalicas stand apart fundamentally from many pigs due to the health benefits they can possess if raised correctly. When pastured and fed a correct amount of mono-unsaturated grain the Mangalica meat and fat has extremely high levels of bio omega 3s and 6s, as well as high levels of oleic acid.
Csarda Haz proudly offers

range freely within forage pastures,
producing healthy and happy pigs.
No antibiotics, pesticides, or inorganic
chemicals of any kind are used in raising
our Mangalica pigs.
